Made of Stories [2020–21]

Made of Stories is a thesis project initiated at Design Academy Eindhoven that identifies a series of junctures at which storytelling and design research intersect (specifically Linguistic Forensics facing indigenous language preservation, Nuclear Semiotics and discussions around Narratology) and investigates these further with a view to archiving as a design practice and means of sustaining design research beyond typical project cycles. [Output]: Made of Stories began as a written essay and research pool and was exhibited as video presentation utilising a customised live-streaming environment. ¶ This video presentation was released in 2 segments, both live streamed as part of the Moving in Stasis show at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. ¶ The first video utilities OBS live-streaming environment to create an open studio exhibiting work-in-progress towards a second video which experiments with the form of a performative lecture. ¶ A printed publication was also produced, in the form of a ‘portmanteau’ style paperback via Print-on-Demand. If you would like a copy please contact Michael. Some images from the printed publication are below. More details [nieuweinstituut.nl]
